Recent changes to the PRC group and update on projects
This is an update just to let people know that we are still alive and kicking. There have been some changes within the PRC as a group. Stratovarius has left the group to improve his situation in real life. He is back in school working on an MBA, and is doing well. Because of the time he must devote to his studies, he could not continue he work with the PRC. He has graciously handed over the reigns so that we may continue to provide you with the content you desire. The entire PRC team wishes him the best of luck and continued success. It is unknown whether he intends to return to the team at some later date, but he will always be welcome.

As a result, we have reorganized the team, and delegated responsibilities to various individuals within the team. Most of us are doing what we were doing before, so not much has changed in that regard. If anyone feels a desire to join the team to help in any way, please feel free to ask. We will explain the application process at that time.

The website will be undergoing some changes soon. Anaxite will be working hard on improving the site and forums to make the PRC site a more enjoyable experience.

We will be releasing our first content for the Dragon Age: Origins game soon, but the release date is still undisclosed. We will make a proper announcement when it is closer to time to release.

Thank you for your patience, and for sticking with us during these slow times. Most of us have been busy with real life, but we are gearing up for the new year that lies ahead.
Chat room currently down
MaintenanceUnfortunately, the server which hosts the PRC chat room is down since Wednesday.

We have moved to another chat server for now, and the online chat room has been pointed there to reflect this.
PRC 3.3G is Out! And A Little Bit Extra
Neverwinter NightsWe've got a few things for you in this release, and the most important of them is a fix to stop that juddering that occurs in certain NWN Modules. It's caused by the module destroying the PC's hide, and XWarren has come up with a workaround to stop the juddering from happening.

We have also shipped the PRC Material Components system. However, at this time the .2da that comes with it is blank. We will have an updated release as soon as Dsabrae gets us that file, but for now, if you wish to manually edit that file for certain spells, it will work.

Other features in the release include the Alienist prestige class, Tenser's Floating Disk, Mass Spell Resistance, Magic Stone, Wolfskin, True Casting, and a few other features here and there. Most of this can be laid at the feet of xwarren, who has been working to improve the PRC ever since he joined as a member. All of this can be accessed from the Downloads section.

The PRC is also opening an online store, which will have clothing emblazoned in the PRC Logo. We also have the very special "fluffyamoeba" line, for those of you without enough cute and purple in your life. You can use this as a way to donate to the PRC, if you like, and that way we feel comfortable knowing you got something for the donation. Please note that currently all designs are with the logo on the shirt back. If you would like to request another style, please contact Stratovarius.
PRC 3.3G RC3 Released, along with a few more things
Neverwinter NightsWe've got a few new toys for you today, starting with a new 3.3G Release Candidate. This has a few more fixes in it, including one for the pesky two two-handed weapons issue. It also has all the debug text turned off, as it's the last release before we push 3.3G out the door, and we'd like a few places to give it a go before we do.

We've also released an updated PRC Merge Hak, which is current up to the 3.3G RC3 release that we've pushed out, and can be used with that version of the PRC.

Finally, we've updated the Downloads page to include all of the links to our content on the vault. We sort of forgot to do that before now, which is a bit silly, but they are all there for NWN1.

Enjoy the new content,
PRC.
Builders Chat Logs Are Up!
Dragon AgeWe'd like to thank Bioware and the speakers for what was a very successful chat yesterday about Dragon Age and the Toolset. We gathered a great deal of insight into the Dragon Age Toolset and the surrounding features, and just what that offers to the builder community. I know we here at the PRC are looking forward to working on this game, as its a complete upgrade from NWN in what it offers to the builder community.

Now, for the important part. We've posted all of the logs of the chat, broken up into three sections. We've got the main chat, the aftermath, when Craig Graff was answering questions, and a series of questions we put to the Bio Devs who made it, and their answers. To get the logs, just go here. For discussion afterwards, there's the Bioware Dragon Age toolset forum and our Dragon Age forum.

I hope you enjoyed being there was much as we did hosting it, and we just might do another one after Dragon Age is released.
Chat Starting in One Hour
Dragon AgeA reminder that the Dragon Age Builder's Chat begins in one hour, in the #terran channel of chat.neverwinterconnections.com:6667. Or, if you would like to use our chat client instead, Click Here, choose your username, and press Go Chat. We're looking forward to telling you all the wonderful things that we saw on our trip to Edmonton.
Dragon Age Builder's Chat (July 26th)
Dragon AgeWe are hosting an IRC based chat about the Dragon Age Builders' Event 2 and what we saw there. It's going to take place two weeks from now in our #terran irc channel on the chat.neverwinterconnections.com server. That will be July 26th at 2:00PM Eastern time. For those in other parts of the world look here to figure out your time.

Three of our members were invited up to Bioware for this event, and we all got a very in-depth look at what was available through the toolset. For those who haven't heard, it blows the NWN1 and NWN2 toolsets out of the water with all of the content and functionality it provides. It's also faster than either of those, at least on my home PC.

The chat itself going to be fairly freeform, with the first half being myself, Tenjac, and Fluffyamoeba, and others (Complete attendee list hosted here so I can edit and update) talking about our experiences at Bioware, and then the rest will become a Q&A session. We've invited Bioware Devs as well as all of the Builders from the event, and I'll let people know as more show up.

Topics will include gameplay, classes, class abilities, all aspects of the toolset from the scripting engine to cutscences, conversations, and areas. Basically, if it involves Dragon Age, but not the actual campaign, we'll be talking about it. There are, however, a few areas that are off-limits to talk about still, so certain questions might not be answered.

I'd like to collect any questions that people want to ask in advance here, so we have a central location for them. These questions will not be answered until the event. We will be posting the log of the chat at the conclusion, so if you are not able to attend, you'll be able to read through it all the next morning.

If you're not a regular IRC user and would like to stop by, don't worry, we have a client on our frontpage that just requires clicking a link to drop in, so no extra software is needed.
PRC 3.3G Release Candidate 2
Neverwinter NightsWe've got a few new things in this one for you, as it includes all of the changes that XWarren and CapnQ submitted to the PRC over the last few weeks. So, we have redone animal companions, including some spells associated with them, the Morninglord of Lathander prestige class, rewritten PnP Shifter class, Heirophant and Archmage SLAs, the Shadowmaster feat for Warlocks, and a few other things that the PRC has also fixed in the release, including some spells and classes that were having troubles before.
Dragon Age and My Return
Dragon AgeAs my lack of posting might have indicated, I have been away from the internet for a while. However, during that time fluffyamoeba and I spent a week at Bioware's Edmonton office to look at Dragon Age and the new toolset. Suffice to say I came away fairly impressed with what I saw. Over the next few days and weeks I will be posting and talking about what I saw there, culminating in an IRC chat two weeks from now in our #terran irc channel on the chat.neverwinterconnections.com server. That will be July 26th at 2PM Eastern time. That's GMT -5.

We will be discussing all that we have seen at the builder's event, as we have a much greater range of freedom than we did at the prior event to speak about things that happened there. I will also be posting much of the information in articles and posts on the forum prior to the chat. For those who have questions, please post them in the Dragon Age general discussion forum on this website.
PRC 3.3G (Sort of)
Neverwinter NightsSo, as the title might suggest, we've put out a new release, but only sort of. The PRC has made available the release candidate for 3.3G. This means there are no debug messages or the like to annoy people, but at the same time, isn't a fully valid release, as there are still some fixes that I'd like to get in before fully launching it. The most important feature of the release is the fix to the DNecro and other spellbook classes, so those should be working properly again.

We have also included all of xwarren's work on the Dragon classes, so they now take full advantage of all of the various wing and tail colours and breath weapon attacks graphically, as well as having the differentiation in scripts. There are also some optimizations changes for PWs in a few places thanks to Demitar.

Now, we only recommend this for single player use at the moment, given its status as a release candidate. Get It Here.
Downloads and Articles
Neverwinter NightsThanks to xwarren, we have managed to recover many of the old threads from the PRC forums. Those I consider the most important have been reposted back into the forums in their appropriate places, while the rest are being provided for download from our website. They are all stored in the Old Forum Posts category, for those who wish to scroll back through the old posts.

Using the material that xwarren provided, we have reopened the Character Builds forum, and posted every build we were able to save. For those classes where we did not manage it, feel free to start anew, as we'll always provide build assistance.

Finally, we added three new articles taken from old forum posts to our Neverwinter Articles folder. The first is Dragonfire Adept: My Thoughts, a long look at the Dragonfire Adept from a first time player, and an analysis of many of the available invocations and class features. The next is Invocations: My Thoughts, probing invocation magic, mainly from a Warlock perspective. It covers each available invocation, the benefits of each, as well where some might turn out poorly. Worthwhile reading for all involved in Invocation magic. Finally, there is Psionics - My Experiences to Date, a player's long look at psionics, psionic powers, the classes, and the experience of playing with the system. For those considering building a psion, this will point out many of the hidden benefits of the class.

Please note that new articles can also be seen on the left, in the New Articles box.
